Ladle Refining furnace are special cranes which are widely used in steelmaking industry to lift molten or hot metals or transfer the ladle to the rotating casting platform.

Normally there should be 2 units ladle cranes in the furnace bay, when one crane is working, and other crane should be at a standby situation. When one cranes have any running problem or under maintenance situation, the second cranes can bear the work immediately.

The crane features:

2.These cranes work next to the furnace and work in the most extreme conditions seen in a Steel Plant. The level of heat and dust are the highest in this area. Therefore these cranes have to be specially designed to withstand these extreme conditions.

3.High speed and continuous operation EOT cranes with the minimum down-time required for maintenance of the cranes.

4.More safety devices: Electric-magnetic disc. Brakes, safety monitoring systems, double brake system for hoisting mechanism.

5.The working duty is at least M7, heavy duty ladle crane working class, Extra heavy duty M8 for 24hours continuous operating the cranes.

6.Special Drives, crane Controls and Automation features are used to provide exact accurate positioning of the crane to help the driver transport and charge the Molten Metal.

7.Temperatures in this area can often reach above 75 degrees. Special types of Heat Shields, Panel e-rooms / Cabins with air conditioners and other features are provided to withstand the very high temperatures.
